Gotcha Day
february is quite the month for the reedy family. on valentines day we also celebrated cruz's 2nd anniversary of his gotcha day! he proudly wore his colombian soccer jersey (probably one of the last times as he's finally starting to outgrow it...don't worry we have a special request in to our dear friend jose to go on a mission in bogota to find him a new one)to school and we explained to his teachers about his big day. it's so hard to believe that it's already been two years!
meeting for the first time:
our family of three:
father - son bonding time:
night one at hotel paris:
our little colombian-minnesotan:
we are truly blessed!
Tall & Skinny
tall and skinny?! definitely not two words i would have ever thought would be used to describe a child of our's, but that is exactly what our pediatrician said about little miss libby! here are her latest stats from her one-year well-child visit:
height: 29", 50th percentile
weight: 18 lbs, 14 oz., 10th-25th percentile
head: 18.25, 75th-90th percentile
the poor girl had to get four shots as well as a finger prick. she did pretty well with the shots, but absolutely hated the finger prick. she was pretty much inconsolable and it didn't help that her finger wouldn't stop bleeding. poor thing!

Libby is One!
where has the time gone? our baby girl turned one last thursday! we had a fun day - she took ice cream birthday treats to school, tore into a cupcake after dinner and had fun celebrating with tia and grandma and grandpa johnson on friday night. cruz loved helping open her presents and especially loved that he got to eat cake, too.
we go in for her one year appointment tomorrow...details & stats to follow!
libby, we love you - happy birthday & we hope all your wishes come true!

Libby, Libby, Libby
another first for libby! on friday, january 25th, tia mel and i took her into wild child for her first trim! her hair was getting a bit straggly so we figured it was about time. let's just say she wasn't a big fan! the tears started almost immediately and i had to hold her hands the whole time.
here she is (note the cape didn't last very long!):
libby is also very close to walking! she loves to push her little 'scooter' walker and walk all around the furniture and everything else. she's attempted going up the stairs a couple times (thanks to big brother cruz showing her the way) and has even tumbled down the top couple stairs to the landing a time or two (and usually ends up laughing!). our little girl is pretty fearless and will attempt almost anything cruz does. we're going to have to keep our eyes on her!
walking makes a girl tired!
tomorrow our baby girl turns 1! i can't believe how fast this year has flown by. she has brought so much joy to our family and we can't imagine life without her.
happy birthday princess! we love you!
