Cruz's Gotcha Day!

february has become a very important month for our family! not only was libby born on the 7th, but cruz's gotcha day is valentine's day, february 14th! despite the chaos and everything going on with a new baby in our lives, we tried to make his big day special. we sent him to school wearing his official colombia soccer jersey and also sent the colombian flag with him in hopes of getting some pictures of it with his friends at school (they were also having their valentine's party). we had a cookie cake designed with the colombian flag and heath delivered that in time for their celebration. his teachers got some great pictures and i will post those when i receive the digital images. after school tia mel went and picked up little caesers pizza for us (one of his faves) and we had that for dinner and snapped a few photos as well. it's so hard to believe that he's been with us for a year! he is such a blessing and is becoming a great big brother.

Life at Home

sorry for the delay in posting...we're all getting adjusted here at home and it's been a whirlwind of guests, doctor's appointments, tax man visit, etc, etc! libby is doing very well - starting to gain weight again (hooray!) and cruz is doing an excellent job in his new role as big brother. my mom stayed with us from tuesday through last saturday and then mel came up sunday and stayed through tuesday. it was great having them here and they were SO helpful with housework, laundry, snuggling with libby, etc. heath went back to work on tuesday and has been doing an awesome job with cruz since i still can't drive or lift him up.

She's Here!

we are excited to announce the arrival of our baby girl! elizabeth paige reedy (libby!) arrived at 12:08 pm weighing 7 lbs, 7 oz and is 19.5" long. libby has lots of sandy blonde/light brown hair and is very happy & healthy! she and i are both doing well.

Grand Old Cruz Weekend!

since this is our last weekend as a family of three, we wanted to make it special for cruz. we ended up going out for pinball and pizza at deleo bros here in woodbury on friday night and then on saturday we got his haircut (ok, maybe not his favorite thing to do, but oh well!) and went for coffee at dunn bros before hitting the magic show at primrose. he thought it was pretty cool and even got to hang out with his buddy liam. of course he decided to flirt with the older girls and sit by them for the beginning of the show! this morning we headed to the minnesota zoo and he loved it! we hadn't been since august when he had just started walking and it was so much more fun now that he could walk around and check things out on his own a little bit. he loved the penguins, turtles and monkeys the best.

Party of Four

we are scheduled to become a party of four this tuesday, february 7th, at 11:30 am! all of my tests went well again this past week and friday was officially my last day of work. i am planning on being off for the full 12 weeks so won't be back until april 30th.

we're trying to make this weekend all about cruz so we're getting ready to head to a magic show at primrose and tomorrow we're planning on a trip to the zoo. should be fun!
